After his victory over the Japanese General in Foshan, Ip Man (Donnie Yen) moves to Hong Kong. He sets up a martial arts school to teach Wing Chun. Here, he is challenged by other kung fu masters, including Sifu Hung (Sammo Hung) who masters in Hung Quan. Sifu Hung and Ip Man draw a tie in their challenge and the latter is adored as a recognized master in Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Twister, the powerful but cruel boxer champion who despised Chinese kung fu destroyed the fruit market and harassed the kung fu institutes. Twister, who also resulted in Sifu Hung’s death, then challenged the Chinese kung fu masters for a public combat. Ip was filled with grief and indignation and he decided to take up the challenge. He swore to claim back the dignity of Chinese kung fu and the Chinese people. A furious fight is about to begin...

I never watch Ip Man the 1st wan. Thus, i cant compare which is better. As my personal opinion, the movie story was good. The only things i dun like was lack of character development. Perhap they adi developed it at 1st and ignore it at here? Nevertheless, i love the action in this movie. I heard it was real fighting and yea! Damn nice especially the fat san mou yeng sao tat attack in high agile! :p

Ice Kacang Puppy Love <初恋红豆冰> Movie

Went to this movie with Pei Li last fri, Ice Kacang Puppy Love <初恋红豆冰>. Is local production and surprisingly is Ah Niu directed :D

Ice Kacang Puppy Love is a profoundly emotional tale of teenager's puppy love, parental love, generation gap, truth and make-believe. Set in a unique small town of 1980's Malaysia, the story evolves between a nice but shame boy - Botak and a brave and adventurous girl - Da Jia Yu.

I love this movie :D! As a local production it was not as bad as i though. However i felt Ah Niu character wasn't as outstanding as Lee Sinje, Gary Cao and Ping Guan. Same goes to Fish Leong character. Her 1 on only dialog in whole movie was "OIII!!"..LOL..I love Gary Chow character the most! He is totally joker in the whole movie. Ah not to mention Nicholas Teo and Penny Tai appeared as cameo when the movie about to end.

You'd probably know by now how adamant I am that the best and only way to enjoy a Hong Kong comedy, is to watch it in Cantonese, otherwise chances are a lot of jokes, especially the verbal ones, will likely be lost in translation. I had the chance to watch this during my recent trip to Hong Kong, but decided somehow to pass it up for other films. Needless to say one of the major interest why I decided to watch this film back in Singapore and compromise on having to sit through this in Mandarin (besides having a friend watch this as well), is no doubt fueled by Ronald Cheng and Charlene Choi coming out of the closet proclaiming an end to their secret union.
Gossipy news aside, I'm never convinced about singer Ronald Cheng's ability as an actor, though I had wondered how well he had fared being in a comedic leading role. I'm still not convinced actually that he's leading man material, despite having tickled my funny bone in the film, which I attribute more to writer-director Jeffrey Lau, who had gone to elicit laughs right from the get go, and had enough fuel from opening credits to plenty of sight gags, toilet humour, a string of cameo appearances, and enough of movie references here to keep you engaged throughout.
In essence, I liken Lau to Asia's version of Hollywood comedies as churned out by the Zucker siblings, where a film can stand on its own with enough craft in comedy, rather than the recent slew of relatively terrible Hollywood comedies that know nothing except to string together films of the same genre, and then poking fun at them en masse. Here though the idea is simple, and Red Cliff / Three Kingdoms form the basis and backdrop at which comedy finds its place. It's essentially a crazy little love story between an unnamed bandit (played by Ronald Cheng) who becomes Zhao Yun when the time travelling, titular Pandora's Box gets activated, and an immortal called Rose (Betty Sun) who is out to find The One true love, whom she believes to be Cheng's character.
So time travel drops them smack into the Battle of Red Cliff, and part of the fun here is to identify the whole slew of cameo appearances by China and Hong Kong actors, who seem not to mind the very bit roles (one scene or two) to lend a helping hand at boosting the film's star attraction. And these appearances come quite fast and furious, together with almost a laugh-a-minute comedy that Lau weaves into the narrative, most of which are genuinely funny, until it started to run out of steam and paid not too subtle comedic homage to Hollywood films like Titanic, The Matrix and King Kong even.
Needless to say the narrative itself is simplistic and delivered in a choppy manner, stringing together gag after gag, and the finale was quite off the mark with a sudden tribute paid to one of Lau's earlier and more famous works with Stephen Chow. Still, it did what it had set out to do, to help you relax and enjoy a rip-roaring time at the movies, so the objective's met and I've got little qualms about it since I honestly am admitting this was much better than expected, and had found myself laughing at some points with tears uncontrollable.

Di di mentioned that i spend my very 1st 12 hours wif my uni friends? beside having dinner at Yakiniku, we went for late night movie yo! We watch When In Rome at Midvalley.

Beth Harper (Bell) is a young, successful real estate agent ... but she's completely unlucky in love. Well this movie is not bad but comedy not as good as i expected. However is perfect some couple watch i guess ;P. Love one of the scene throughout the whole show where the car was smaller than kancil and can fit in the lift! hahaha

Kinda love this movie! Is very funny. Love the taxi scene and pool dance scene d most! hahaha. This movie have a descent storyline though i meant to be comedy. Just catch this at cinema if u havent. U wun regret it ;)

Kick-Ass Premier Screening

Courtesy to Nuffnang, i got to watch Kick-Ass movie a week before it release to Malaysia. The screening was after the Project Alpha 2 launch at Cathay Cineplex as well. Yup! Tats mean v get to watch together wif all Project Alpha and other bloggers! No introduction needed for my guest of that night i guess :P

Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan with a few friends and who lives alone with his father. His life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming. However, one day he makes the simple decision to become a super hero even though he has no powers or training.

The movie was pretty awesome! At 1st i tod it gonna be like Superheroes Movie which is lame and stupid. But this is far better eventhough it was funny lame as well. Why? coz they actually use every1 favourite genre, ACTION and VIOLENCE! woohoo! Surprisingly Nicholas Cage was Big Daddy 0_o
